REFLECTIONS

EXPERIENCES

The Advanced Typography has now ended and I don't think I would be able to learn this module again since I'm going to take specialisation animation. I must say it was a very hectic module since the first semester, but I really really like it. I remembered the first time I entered Taylor's and I know nothing about design and I have to say that typography was giving me so much stress. Mr. Vinod was very scary in the first semester and I always asked Mr. Shamsul to avoid Mr. Vinod's anger. LOL.

Moving on to Advanced Typography, I'm not really sure when I've noticed this, but Mr. Vinod and Mr. Shamsul is actually really kind and gentle, quite the opposite from their usual tough-selves. I was actually scared that I might get scolded again in the 2nd semester, but the lecturers have become more friendlier and approachable. It makes it easier for me if I wanted to ask questions and they still put on their smiley and happy faces (good mood), rather than facing the 'stressed mode' of Mr. Vinod and Mr. Shamsul.

Even though I have difficulties in this 2nd semester, I felt like I have improved a lot than before. I don't know if the lecturers think of the same thought as me - whether I have improved or not - but I guess what matters to me is I had fun working on every typography assignment and I had unforgettable memories and experiences, also the knowledges that I have learned. This semester is over so fast for me, because I might actually enjoying it.

I know that no matter how many times I say "thank you" to Mr. Vinod and Mr. Shamsul, it would never be enough to express my gratitude for them. They've always been there for me whenever I needed them and they were the one who made me who I am now. Honestly, I would really missed being taught by them, because there were a LOT of fun and scary moments in their class, HAHA.

OBSERVATIONS

Looking back at my works in 1st semester, my reaction was, "Eww... did I really made those?" But now that I like my works more in Advanced Typography, I really feel I have made improvements. It's all thanks to Mr. Vinod and Mr. Shamsul who kept urging me to have my further readings when I was very very lazy about it. I also paid more attention to details in any designs' work now, whether it is professional designer's work, senior's work, or my friends' work. And if before I felt like I was restricted from being creative, now I feel free! I can design whatever I want to and Mr. Vinod and Mr. Shamsul lets me! So I was so so happy!

FINDINGS

My findings in this module are not to PROCRASTINATE, think and evaluate my work before asking for FEEDBACKS, and keep READING or study or create art or something. Besides knowledge, I found out so many things in Advanced Typography: I found the fun and being creative when doing assignments and projects, I found stress and panic in working typography, I found scared and nervous feelings whenever waiting replies from online feedbacks, and so much more. I'm glad that I've finished this module, but I'm also scared to move on to specialisation as there will be more journey up ahead. However, I believe the findings I got from Advanced Typography will help me face any challenge in my way. Therefore, I'd like to thank you to Mr. Vinod and Mr. Shamsul for always being patient with me even though I'm slow in understanding things and keep guiding me until this day.
