REFLECTION

EXPERIENCES

From this semester, I learned so much about typography and that was from the very basic. At first, I didn't like typography because I think it's a hard lesson to learn and turns out it's true. The typography class gave me so much stress and pressure starting from calligraphy exercise. But even so, the lecturers were very supportive and surprisingly, I enjoyed typography class. I really really gain so much knowledge and experience and I learned so much from Mr. Vinod and Mr. Shamsul. I'm really proud to have such great lecturers like them (although they're quite scary when they're in bad mood, especially Mr. Vinod).

OBSERVATIONS

When time flies, I observed all my works starting from the beginning and I felt like I have some improvements on my typography. I don't know how to explain it, but they're kind of different from assignments to assignments. My first works are not so good because I haven't really familiar with the typography, but then when I have learned it, even though still the basic, I feel like I can do them and I want to do more, even though typography stressing me out.

FINDINGS

I don't really think words could express my gratitude to my lecturers who have helped me throughout this semester and make me found out a lot about interesting things in typography. I thought it will be boring just to learn the history and all that, but Mr. Vinod and Mr. Shamsul makes the class really exciting to learn and it makes me want to pay attention to them and find out so much things I haven't known yet. Things like: techniques in calligraphy, making our name lettering, expressing words just from typefaces, making a book, designing typefaces and making poster conveying message just by typefaces as well. And I learned how to make a neat blog and animating or digitalising my works. I also found out the key in making typography: readable.
