PROCESS OF WEBCOMIC
For my final project, I chose to make webcomic from song lyrics. At first, I wanted to do tragic love story, but then that wouldn't attract a lot of audience. Then I chose another song lyrics with happy ending because I think it would make me enjoy in making the project, too.
But the song that I chose feels like it needs realistic drawing. And all of my drawings before didn't match the song. That's why I need to come up with another idea. I decided what to do with my webcomic a week before deadline, which means I need to do it fast.
The title of te song that I picked is "You Dian Tian / A Bit Sweet" by Wang Su Long ft By2. I found their song while watching chinese drama "Love O2O" and when I saw the meanings of the song lyrics, I wanted to do this for my webcomic.

Pick an apple and wait for you to pass through the door
The first image was a hand plucking an apple from the tree and the guy will pass the apple to the girl later. But before giving it to the girl, I made the girl's point of view first, what was she doing before the guy came to her.

This panel means that they usually spend every weekend together and every little emotions that the girl shows means a lot to the guy.

This panel doesn't really reflect the song lyrics, but I want to make it as if the guy made the girl see the world differently "...a flower bloomed in the dry desert..." And the girl made the guy wants to do anything for her; every simple things or anything that could make the girl happy.

The first two pictures shows that the girl still couldn't forget her ex-boyfriend and she's trying to move on from him. And she's also scared if one day another person will leave her like her ex did. But the guy ensured her that he wouldn't ever leave her and tried to cheer her up "...use a romantic chorus"
One day, they planned on going together again for the next weekend. This shows that the girl has opened up her heart a little to the guy who was always beside her in her hard times.

One day, when their eyes met, it deepens their feelings. "...the expression in our eyes makes our choice more firm..."

And suddenly you came to my heart
This panel shows that the pain and the memories of the past starts to fade away and now the girl's mind and heart were slowly filled by the memories of the guy. "...suddenly you came to my heart..."
This panel shows that she was still confused of what was going on. Why did she keep thinking about the guy? Is there something that keeps making her think of him? And why does she feel different with the guy than her ex-boyfriend? Is it possible that she actually starting to like him?
She kept thinking about it and come up with one solution: she's more happy with the guy she's with now. Could it be... they have the same feelings?

This is the panel when they started to know about each other feelings better. The girl was grateful that the guy changes her life. She might not going to make it if he weren't there for her. Not only he saved her, he also makes the girl's world more colourful than before. "...you're the one who made my world turn to pink from that moment..." The guy was also grateful that the girl existed in his life. He's devoted to her even when she's with another guy and kept waiting for her. "...you're the one who made all I want in my life is just be with you..."

Perhaps, the only think the girl could ever return all the favour the guy has already given her was to return his feelings. Now that she found her true love who would always stay by her side, she found her happiness at last. The guy would also ensure that he would treat her carefully and loved her with all his heart. "...love has to be carved elaborately..."
The technique that I used for my webcomic was "tracing". A lot of my friends were doing this kind of method, too and when I saw how it worked, it would be perfect for my final project illustration or drawings. I have used Adobe Illustrator for my 2nd Project and now I would like to familiarised myself with Adobe Photoshop and getting used with my wacom tablet.
First of all, I picked a real picture, reduce the opacity of the layer in Adobe Photoshop and draw the line art at different or new layer.
Since I want to make it realistic, I need to reduce using black line art.
After this, I put on the base colour in another layer.
Finally, I just need to add the final touch of colour perfection in another different layer and try playing with the colours to make my drawings more realistic.

For the comic characters, I downloaded their pictures from Google, because it was hard to find the pictures I wanted from free stock photos.

Finally, for the last step of the final project, we need to animate our webcomic in "Madefire" website and upload the links in our blog. But unfortunately, I couldn't use Madefire website, so instead I used iMovie application to animate it.
